With 30+ years in the industry, my experience comes from both a technical and engineering background. As a second generation elevator professional, I began working for Otis Elevator right out of high school. I spent 19 years with them, elevating through all the ranks of mechanic, foreman, specialist, and superintendent.
I later moved on to the consulting role, which allowed me to leverage my hands-on experience and help businesses and property owners see the benefits of my in-depth knowledge.
KP Elevator Consulting was founded out of my desire to bring the very best in vertical transportation solutions and outcomes. I take pride in the fact that I bring a true value to my clients, paired with budgeting, project management, and expert advice. There are no shortcuts to excellence around here, and you can always expect an honest answer from me when it comes to your elevators and escalators.
When I’m not talking about elevators, I enjoy time being active: snowboarding, BJJ, mountain biking, and dirt-biking. Applying my love of fitness and health, I attend the American Lung Association each year for the annual stair climb. I also volunteer at the Red Cross and donate platelets regularly. I love spending time with my family and traveling internationally as well.
DeSimone Consulting Engineering acquires KP Elevator Consulting
April 2, 2025 ― DeSimone Consulting Engineering has acquired KP Elevator Consulting, part of an ongoing strategy to curate and broaden its multi-service platform with specialized expertise to benefit clients worldwide.
Founded in New York City in 1969, DeSimone provides structural engineering, façade design consulting, integrated design and project delivery, and construction consulting services, across building types. Known for delivering thoughtful, innovative, and sustainable solutions to clients around the world, the firm places a premium on providing trusted, dedicated service from offices in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, South America, and the Middle East.
Going forward, KP will operate under the DeSimone banner, merging with the company’s existing San Francisco office.

I have spent over 8 years with KONE Elevator & Escalators in several various capacities, including new construction sales and project management, service account management, and, most recently, modernization sales here in San Francisco. In every stage of my career, I have always been driven, first and foremost, by providing the best solutions for my customers. That’s a core value that I continue to carry every day.
In joining KP Elevator Consulting, I will continue to provide the level of quality expected from us while delivering real value for your vertical transportation needs. I look at every situation through multiple lenses to find the best solution based on needs of today and throughout the life of the equipment. COVID-19 has forced several buildings to completely change their use which has caused tenant expectations to change and on top of that, there are constantly new technologies entering our industry, such as growing adoption of destination dispatching, introduction of IoT and API’s, elevator call from smart devices, and so much more. I’m here to not only help navigate our industry, but to also find ways to ensure your vertical transportation meets the needs of your everchanging business.
Outside of being an elevator nerd, I like to get outside to go fly fishing in the mountains, swimming in the Bay, or taking my dog to the park.
